Rancid is a punk rock band originated in Albany, California. Tim Armstrong, Rancid's lead guitar and vocalist has been with punk rock since 1987 in the band Operation Ivy. This band ended in 1989. Then in 1991 Rancid was born. Rancid's core members consisted of Tim Armstrong, Lars Frederickson, and Matt Freeman. Brett Reed used to play drums in the band and now the drummer is Branden Steineckert. The band has recorded and put out 7 great albums. Rancid has been my favorite band for years ever since I was very young. They are the father of modern punk.
